ABOUT REGINA

With an outstanding background as a former professional player and over 25+ years of teaching experience, Regina Csibi brings both her passion and her expertise to the court, helping you to believe and achieve!

Tennis has been a big part of  Regina's life from a young age. As a top junior and open player of her native country of Hungary, she travelled and competed extensively at the international level. Amongst many accomplishments, she is a Hungarian National Junior Champion in singles and doubles, two time Hungarian National Team Champion, two time NCAA Doubles National Champion, USTA Open National Champion, 4 time All American, recipient of numerous CCAA and NCAA awards and the first player ever to go undefeated in CCAA tennis history in both singles and doubles during four years in college.

Her competitive years lasted about two decades, during which she earned two degrees, the first in High Performance Coaching form the prestigious Semmelweis University of Medicine and Sport Sciences, and the other in Psychology from California State University, Bakersfield. As she transitioned from player to coach, she first started training competitive junior players, and eventually moved to coaching at the collegiate level. She served a total of 9 years combined as Head Women's Tennis Coach at California State University Bakersfield and Head Men's Tennis Coach at Bakersfield College, while continuing to work with juniors at Seven Oaks Country Club.

In 2012, Regina looked to branch out on her own and decided to start Regina Csibi Tennis, her own private tennis development program, which she has been running successfully since. She works with a variety of players, from children as young as 4 years old just starting out, to competitive USTA junior and high school players, hoping to earn college scholarships. Regina's approach to teaching, is to provide her players a solid technical,  physical and mental understanding of the game, so they can bring the most out of themselves in the long run. Because of her deep and found memories of her youth as a young player, she hopes to help juniors in Bakersfield to discover the joy of this sport, recognize the opportunities it may provide and acquire life long skills that come with being an athlete.

Regina and her assistant coaches offer private lessons, group lessons, junior drills, fitness and conditioning sessions to fit every player’s individual needs. Occasionally, she also helps adult USTA players/teams get ready for their league and tournaments. With a variety of services offered, Regina Csibi Tennis is the perfect program for anyone looking to take their game to the next level, staying active and have fun.

Regina takes great pride in her dedication to the game, her students and to have been part of the Bakersfield tennis community for so many years.
